There's tin sheds and there's TIN SHEDS!
How about a £60m whopper that requires more thought put into it than a high rise!
OK, it's tin sheds, not everyone wants to do industrial for life. I get it!
If you're not snooty about it though you'll realise that these buildings are as, if not more relevant than any of the posh stuff going on in Manchester city centre.
If you're smart, you might realise that tin sheds pay very well! You might also realise that you're an Architectural Technologist, not an Architect. This gives you three advantages:
  1.  After about RIBA stage 2 there's no reason you can't run every bit of every project no matter where you are or where you work.
  2. You're the best possible person to design any kind of Industrial project, because it's purely functional, gets laid out in blocks and is usually very technical from stage one!
  3. This particular company is more or less run by Technicians. The Manchester leader is a Technical background, as is most of Manchesters Senior Staff.
They're a big enough company nationwide, but in Manchester, they're relatively small and new. That means, you're next in line for the next big promotion, the next big job runner and the first to be given the most challenging and demanding jobs that end in you getting into senior management long term .
50/50 Revit/AutoCAD. No pre requisite software knowledge required. You'll get to use both, even if you've never used Revit before.
If you're as smart as this practice, you'll apply to this job.
