£50,000 - £55,000 & Benefits

Senior Architect or Associate suffering from a lack of progression?
You're commuting hours every day because you think you need to in order to earn decent money in a decent practice. It's not true that the further away you get from Manchester the smaller the practice, the lower the salary, the fewer the benefits or the less exciting the projects.
Your problem is that I'd be 90% certain you don't even know this practice exists. This is a small, relatively new Architecture Department which is part of a nationwide group of companies employing thousands. It's fair to say they have resources.
On top of your basic salary you get:
- 5% Pension contribution from the Employer
- Medical advice and insurance
- Life Insurance
- Large Annual Bonus
- A huge amount of freedom and autonomy
You will spend your time:
- Actively designing and / or leading design of attractive schemes.
- Looking after clients
- Making sure design is spot on
- Managing the bid process
- Looking for opportunities to win work
- Creating and following your business plan
- Managing staff and overseeing projects although somebody else will manage them
You'll work with the Practice Manager, Business Development Manager, Marketing team, HR team and the Divisional Head of the business. All of these people are here to support you in doing your job.
They want you to be creative. That means you'll spend some of your time drawing / hand sketching and coming up with ideas. You'll know what good design is, and you'll have the gravitas to say no to the stuff your Architects come up with if need be.
The future looks like a bigger salary, a growing practice with a growing name, more staff and responsibility, sector heads working under you and a practice moulded around you.
This is the only time this company will be recruiting for the top spot. You won't be able to join them in six months time. Make sure you get in touch to get the details off us.
