You're commuting hours every day because you think you need to in order to earn decent money in a decent practice. It's not true that the further away you get from Manchester the smaller the practice, the lower the salary, the fewer the benefits or the less exciting the projects.
Your problem is that I'd be 90% certain you don't even know this practice exists. But if I could tell you that an Architectural practice which is part of a group that turns over hundreds of millions, with the practice itself turning over £1.8m after 4 years, that is growing but still forming and was recruiting in the heart of Lancashire would you want to know more?
On top of your basic salary you get:
  • 5% Pension contribution from the Employer
  • Medical advice and insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Work from home to wait for deliveries or if you're getting work done...
  • High-end Laptop
  • A high level of flexibility and a company that prides itself on your work life balance.
You will spend your time working largely on RIBA Stages 0 - 2. The immediate project need will be to put together concept proposals for a trendy new mixed-use commercial leisure site that needs to encompass elements of health, commercial, retail and light industrial. You'll decide how that space is planned out and used by customers and the end user.
No need to get bored doing the same schemes either. You'll design attractive living spaces in the form of apartments and housing in all of its forms. You'll work on Healthcare new builds, Education, Industrial, Conservation and more.
They already have a wealth of Technical expertise and although you don't need to walk away from delivery entirely, your main job is to be the creative force in the office.
Forget that big commute, drive through the hills and countryside of Lancashire, the thought of traffic jams far from your mind. You might even get home in time to squeeze in dinner with the family from now on or even a stop at the gym at a decent hour.
This is the life changer. Not just in terms of your lifestyle, but in terms of the type of work you do, and in terms of opportunity. In 10 years they'll be a household name. Now is a good time to get in.
